On May 6th, Division of Public Schools Chancellor Jacob Oliva surprised Megan Crombie, from Florida State University School in Leon County, with the news that she is one of five Teacher of the Year finalists. The statewide Teacher of the Year will be announced at the annual Florida Teacher of the Year Gala July 18 in Orlando.

Today, First Lady Ann Scott and Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart named Joy Prescott from Pemayetv Emahakv Charter School in Glades County the 2019 Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year at the awards gala in Orlando.

Today, during the Teacher of the Year Gala, Bonnie Bresnyan from Lewis Elementary School in Hillsborough County was presented with the Mary J. Brogan “Excellence in Teaching” Award and Kerry Adams from Shadeville Elementary School in Wakulla County was presented with the Dr. Brian Dassler Leadership Award.
